The story of little Stefania from Liubartsi village, Boryspil district, Kyiv region, has become a great challenge for her large family.

Stefania was born prematurely — at 30 weeks of pregnancy, together with her brother by cesarean section. Her birth weight was only 1300 grams, and from the very first minutes of life the struggle for survival began.

Doctors diagnosed hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, depression syndrome, autonomic dysfunction syndrome, and respiratory disorders. Stefania spent 14 days in intensive care, where doctors fought for her life. As her condition worsened, the babies were urgently transferred to the neonatal department in Boyarka, where they spent another three weeks in incubators, undergoing numerous examinations and treatments.

The family bravely accepted their daughter’s diagnosis — severe cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) — and since then they have been fighting every day for her health.

Stefania visits a neurologist every month. Her family constantly searches for new opportunities for treatment and rehabilitation in Kyiv and Boryspil. Although the results are not always immediate, the parents do not give up and continue to do everything possible to improve their daughter’s condition.

At home, they carefully follow doctors’ recommendations:

therapeutic physical exercises, special exercises, warm wraps, and other rehabilitation procedures.

For a child with cerebral palsy, every small step in development is a great victory.

Thanks to her parents’ perseverance, Stefania is gradually gaining new skills. Before the age of two, she learned to hold her head, roll onto her side, respond to sounds, and give her family a gentle smile.

Currently Stefania cannot sit independently without support and cannot walk. She weighs only 12 kilograms and requires constant care and assistance.

A long path of treatment and rehabilitation lies ahead. In this difficult journey, Stefania is supported by the faith, love, and care of her family. However, it is very difficult for the family to cope with the financial expenses on their own.

The Prykhodko family has three children, and they sincerely ask for the support of caring people.

Stefania needs constant assistance, including:

  • diapers (size 6)
  • baby food (purees)
  • medications:
  • Smart Omega — 5 ml twice a day
  • Agvantar — 4 ml twice a day
  • Cardonat — 1 capsule per day
  • Cognium — 2 tablets per day
  • Floma — 5 ml per day
  • Cognitium — 5 ml per day
  • Kvanil — 4 ml twice a day
  • L-Betargin — 1 sachet twice a day

Stefania also needs rehabilitation courses at the “Krok za Krokom” and “Victoria” centers, which are recommended up to six times per year.

Every act of support is a chance for Stefania to take another step toward development, movement, and a more independent life.
