Children’s Clothing for 51 Little Ones
Children grow incredibly fast: an outfit that fit perfectly yesterday has sleeves that are too short and feels tight in the shoulders today. For many families, especially large families and those forced to leave their homes because of the war, constantly updating a child’s wardrobe is a real challenge. That is why, as part of the Open Hearts project, we continue to care for the youngest ones.
This time, the children’s clothing store KIDSFLOWERS.UA donated clothes for children from newborns up to 7 years old. Every item is new, branded and eco-friendly. This kind of help is especially valuable, as quality children’s clothing is often quite expensive for parents.
At the moment, the foundation has no expectant mothers or babies under one in its care, so our team decided to share this warmth more widely. We prepared an application form for parents who are expecting a baby or raising children under one, as well as older children up to seven. In this way, all the help from KIDSFLOWERS.UA was distributed as one-time humanitarian aid.
Nataliia Kisielova, the foundation’s coordinator and director, carefully reviewed every application, lovingly matched the clothes by age and size, and sent them to the families. In total, 51 children from 26 families received new clothes. The parcels went to Kyiv, Bila Tserkva and towns across the Kyiv region, as well as to Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, Pisochyn, Poltava, Reshetylivka, Odesa, Vinnytsia and many other cities and villages across Ukraine.
We can picture parents opening their parcels and gently sorting through tiny bodysuits, bright T-shirts and cozy sweaters, with tears of joy in their eyes. After all, not every family can afford to keep buying new clothes for a child who outgrows them so quickly. Moments like these are what make our work worthwhile!
