A day of care, smiles, and gifts for orphaned children from the “Children for Children” Foundation team

“Road to Life”: Supporting Graduates Starting Their Independent Journey

Every May, the team at the “Children for Children” Charitable Foundation launches the Road to Life project — an initiative for orphaned children and graduates of specialized boarding schools. During this time, these young people, who have grown up without parental care, complete their education and take their first steps into adulthood.

We receive heartfelt letters filled with dreams, hopes, and questions. Our response is not only practical help, but also love, support, and a message: “You are not alone.”

A Day That Turned Into a Celebration

This May, the foundation’s team, led by Director Natalia Kiselyova, visited Educational and Rehabilitation Center No. 21, home since 2022 to children evacuated from the cities of Toretsk and Zaporizhzhia. Among the 35 children, 9 graduates received their first-ever suitcases or backpacks, filled with essentials, hygiene products, and household items — and warm letters filled with advice, just like from family.

This is more than just a gift. It’s a symbol of care and a source of confidence in a life without parents.

Care Means Being There

That day, children were given more than just things — they were given presence, attention, and warmth.
Volunteers Lidia Kirichenko, Natalia Shkavron, and Karina Ahapova joined the trip, playing games with the kids, talking, hugging, and bringing smiles.

For the younger children, we prepared an entertainment program with Woohoo Event

We are very grateful to the designer of women’s clothing @maricheva_maricheva for the outfits of the Ukrainian brand @maricheva for graduate and high school girls! Alyona has been participating in the Road to Life project for several years now, as she believes that girls really need to have beautiful clothes to look modern and stylish.

The celebration ended with delicious pizza and juice — shared at one big, warm table where adults and children sat together like family.

As a farewell, the graduates presented us with handmade souvenirs with a deep meaning – Motanka dolls – amulets that will protect and always remind us of them, that goodness and love go from heart to heart!
