Volunteer cooperation of the Kids to Kids Foundation with the Center for Medical, Psychological, Social and Rehabilitation Assistance to Children of the National Children’s Hospital “Okhmatdyt”
The Kids to Kids Foundation received a request from Olena Anoprienko, head of the Center for Medical, Psychological, Social and Rehabilitation Assistance to Children, to cooperate and help family children who are currently undergoing treatment at the Ohmatdyt medical institution.
The center’s psychologists work with sick children affected by military operations and children in difficult life circumstances who need psychological diagnosis, support and correction at certain stages of treatment. Since its foundation in 2017, our foundation has focused on supporting orphans and children with disabilities from low-income and large families. During the war, we put a lot of effort and provided one-time humanitarian aid to IDP families with children. All the founders of the foundation are mothers and the phrase “there are no other people’s children” is not just words for us. Every child deserves attention and care, and we are also convinced that children learn by looking at the adults who live next to them.
Responding to the request for cooperation, we offered not just help, but organized a guest visit with friends of the foundation, with treats and interesting master classes for children. This is an important step in order to distract from stress, give joy and support to sick children in a difficult time for them.
Friends and volunteers gladly joined our team. We would like to express our special gratitude to Oleksandra Zinchenko, the founder of the network of Speech Therapy and Correctional Centers Oleksandra Zinchenko, and her colleagues for their tireless work for the health of children and sincerity of hearts. The center’s team often participates in charitable initiatives and organizes charity events themselves.
According to Oleksandra Zinchenko, charity should be an integral part of everyone’s life. The master class on making plasticine toys and coloring Easter souvenirs aroused great interest among children. The bright plaster Easter eggs will decorate the space either in a hospital ward or at home and remind the children of the good time they had.
We would like to thank our volunteer Ruslana Verlos, who has been supporting our foundation for many years and giving children her creativity, love and beauty. Ruslana Verlos is a talented fashion designer and a bright person with an open heart. This time, Ruslana offered the girls an interesting master class on making a felt brooch “Angel”. The creative inspiration resulted in very beautiful brooches that decorated the clothes of not only girls but also adults.
We cannot but mention Olga Melnichenko, who joined our visit with a sincere desire to visit the children and give them a piece of her warmth. Olga is a quantum psychologist, a Kundalini yoga teacher who helps people change their anxiety into a fulfilling life every day, which is essential at any time. According to Olha, support is about the time you devote to a person from the bottom of your heart, about the ability to listen, hug, and share what you have.
Our dedicated volunteer Maria Hatskevich is always with us at! Maria started her charity work as a young girl and continues to help while raising her young son. We appreciate and are proud of her!

The foundation’s team brought stationery and toys at the request of the center so that during treatment at the clinic, children could be distracted from illness and pain, the absence of relatives nearby. Also, each child received sweets and fresh fruit – because we know that children are always waiting for sweets! This small detail filled our visit with even more joy and positivity.
“Seeing the eyes light up in a child who has just smiled for the first time in a week is incredibly valuable. It is at these moments that I remember why we do what we do. Charity is not about pity. It’s about care, humanity and true love for those who need it more than we do. Children undergoing treatment go through a lot – often more than adults.
But even a few warm words, paint in their hands, a new construction set or a hug from a volunteer can become a small island of happiness for them. Support is not always something big. Sometimes it is just a donation. Just a suitcase of things. Just a kind letter. But these are the actions that build a strong future for our children,” says Natalia Kiseleva, Executive Director of the Foundation.
A person with a big heart, whose life and work are closely connected with children, education and help, Natalia is not only a director, she is a project coordinator, communications manager and volunteer. We thank Natalia for her dedication to a noble cause!
We are happy to have such friendly support from our longtime volunteer friends and are glad that, despite the difficult times, new friends are joining our team. Together we walk the path of goodness, bringing warmth, care and love to children who need it most.
