My name is Ksenia, I am Vika Lutsenko’s mother, who is a ward of the “Kids2Kids” Foundation since the “Happiness to Every Family” project.
Since the beginning of the war and the shelling of our city of Dnipro, there was no doubt that the child needed to be rescued, because these horrific explosions are difficult for an adult to accept, and for a child with epilepsy it is simply unbearable. From the first days of the war, the child’s epileptic seizures became more frequent, we gathered the most necessary things and went to our final destination, not knowing where it will be.
First, we went to Lviv. Thousands of nervous, pushing people are on the platform. The compartment was packed with up to 15 people. The road on the train turned out to be very difficult – almost 20 hours in a crowded compartment. Emotions of fear escalated. Everyone traveled in silence, afraid of any sound … everyone prayed. Vika suffered 7 severe attacks and vomiting on the road. Thankfully, we had the medicine she needed.
Arriving at Lviv station, we could not get to the station square for 1.5 hours, because there was an enormous crowd of running, scared people. Then we went to Frankivsk, where we were met and settled for a week by good people. Vika came to her senses a little during this time. Then we were back on the way to the unknown … We were picked up by the most wonderful people, volunteers, who took care of all the needs of the child on the road. And here we are in Poland, where the child does not hear the sounds of terrible sirens and explosions, where the doctors visit us, who even provided my daughter with the medicines for the first period, surrounded by care.
The sorrow for my native land does not allow me to breathe the air with my full chest, all my thoughts and heart remain in my native country … We really want to return to our country, to our city, to our home as soon as possible. To a country without war. We believe in victory, in our army, in our people! We pray for everyone who defends our homeland???
