Victoria Lutsenko
Diagnosis: epileptic encephalopathy, malformation of the brain, atrophy of vision.
It was normal pregnancy, all tests and screens showed a healthy child. Vika was born on the 37th week and three days later she and her mother could leave the hospital to return home. At home Vika behaved like normal, healthy child, however she cried all the time. The doctor said that it is most likely caused by stomach colic, which is quite natural for newborn babies.
The first signal that something was wrong occurred when Vika was 1.5 months old. There was an attack of epilepsy, the child had convulsions. The next day the seizures recurred, they were repeating several times a day. First aid … Friday evening … Doctors can not believe that such a small child may have epilepsy. But the doctors came home and took Vika to the intensive care unit, put a dropper in the hope that it would help, but the cramps began even more. Urgently, the mother and the girl were transferred to a specialized children’s hospital of neurology, collected all possible tests, took a spinal tap. But nothing gave any results. Doctors could not diagnose to prescribe the right treatment.
One year Vika was in such condition. Attacks-droppers. Attacks became so strong that the child began to lose consciousness and foam came from the mouth. But the doctors were raising their hands, as all the tests and internal organs were in order. Attacks from 20 per day decreased to 15. Now Vika is 2 years old, she takes a hormone and it’s a little easier. Attacks became slightly less. At the moment, the child does not sit by hersel, does not hold her head, does not follow the objects and does not chew.
Vika was diagnosed with a complex diagnosis-epileptic encephalopathy, polymorphic seizures, therapeutic resistances, a rough delay in psychomotor development.
The project “Happiness for every family” provides the family with the necessary medicines, baby food and personal hygiene products on a monthly basis. Project also collects funds for necessary medical treatments and rehabilitation.
