Okunevich Anastasiya and Sasha are twins. After childbirth, the children suffered from sepsis of three species: staphylococcus, blue wand, enterococcus. Sasha’s body coped with the infection, but Anastasiya did not: the breathing stopped, necrosis. The fight against the disease lasted three months in the department of neonatology. A new test – vaccination at the age of 9 months gave severe complications -Anastasiya fully stopped moving. In the Kiev hospital, Ohmatdet the child was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CCP), a mixed form.
To maintain health, the girl needs sanatorium treatment and constant assistance for the duration of her life. Anastasiya often has seizures and not all procedures can be done. The girl’s body responds well to any water procedures: hydromassage, hydrogen sulfide baths.
Rehabilitation massage and taping treatment also give good results. In order to prevent the deterioration of her health, massages are performed between the rehabilitation of Anastasiya, once a week the girl visits the pool, magnetic laser therapy, kinesiotherapy in the clinic at the place of residence. If possible, the girl visits the dolphinarium – 10 minute swimming with dolphins has a beneficial effect on the children’s body.
Mother and brother take care of Anastasiya. The family has no relatives at all.
Since 2019,Anastasiya has become a part of the Kinds to Kids Fund family. Our financial and psychological support is incredibly important.
Currently, Anastasiya can sit on her own, holds a bottle and drinks and turns on her side, stomach and back. Unfortunately, the girl cannot stand due to the heavily twisted joints of the legs.
For Anastasiya, as for all children diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CCP), regular rehabilitation courses are very important. The Khmelnik sanatorium in Ukraine has everything the girl needs: hydrogen sulfide baths, electrical procedures, rehabilitation massage, hydromassage, spinal extract in water, kinesiotherapy, VHF, acupuncture + reflexotherapy, barocamera (oxygen saturation).
